Web SSH Clients

May 12th, 2006

Well, our school doesn’t let us download and use software from school, and I can’t run perl scripts from these computers, sooo…I’ve discovered the great world of web SSH clients.

The best one I’ve found is this one. Just thought I’d share this with you.

They should install PuTTY and X-Win32 and make it standard software on all the computers, as ubiquitous as Internet Explorer. That’s what they do at USC, and it makes SSH convenient.

    Ask Mr. Ulrich, perhaps.

I’ve mentioned this to Ulrich before, but he said due to security reasons and stuff, he’d prefer not to. Most people wouldn’t know how to use it, and the ones that do might be able to do some other stuff which he wouldn’t like. I don’t know if this is possible, but for example running a browser through X and visiting sites that are inherently blocked through the school.
