More Apple Stores on the way!

November 14th, 2005

Apparently, there will be two more Apple Stores opening in the Greater Los Angeles area. One in Beverly Center, and the other in Sherman Oaks.
You can get more information here.
If there will be free shirts, I’ll be at at least one of the openings, most likely the Beverly Center one.
Hope to see some of […]

Apple Store Grand Opening, Brea Mall

November 7th, 2005

Well, I just recieved an email from Apple saying that the Brea Mall will have an Apple Store grand opening on Saturday the 12th. For the past two openings in Greater Los Angeles, I’ve missed due to events like the SAT test and a dragon boating contest. Nothing, I repeat, NOTHING, will get […]

Experimenting with Linux

October 29th, 2005

Well, I just installed Ubuntu 5.04 on my old box a week ago, and just recently killed the GUI by trying to update the nVidia drivers. Looks like it is time to give Gentoo a try. I think I killed it when I couldn’t get the installer to run… Anyways, I didn’t really […]

MINIUSA UAOM

October 23rd, 2005

I just recieved my UAOM(Unauthorized Owner’s Manual) from MINIUSA. It is pretty awesome, with some unconventional uses for a MINI, and ways to be different.
You can download your own printable copy here (1.3MB, PDF).
Oh, and the printed copy comes with these stickers that you can stick above the toggle switches, which unlocks the mysterious […]

Google Personalized Home

October 10th, 2005

Here it is: http://www.google.com/ig
Something I just discovered. Seems awfully like what I did try out with Yahoo a long time ago (5 years+, so some of these might not apply anymore).
I didn’t like what Yahoo! had. It was not easy to customize. I had to go through many page loads to make […]

ACT v. SAT impressions

October 9th, 2005

Well, I just took the ACT with Writing in September, and the SAT Reasoning test yesterday, Oct. 8.
The ACT was definitely easier overall. All the four multiple choice sections, which are English, Reading, Math, and Science, were all a piece of cake compared to the SAT stuff. But, the writing was very similar […]

MINI MPG

September 22nd, 2005

I’ve been keeping track of my MINI’s MPG by using the gallons filled and miles driven for two tanks now, and the numbers are not looking too good. Both tanks were around 19 mpg. I guess it’s either I’m a big lead foot, or I’m doing something wrong.
I sometimes run with the windows […]

Motoring Encounters

September 10th, 2005

Yesterday, I was motoring with windows down on Pierre Road towards Valley, when I suddenly heard a girl scream at the top of her lungs, “It’s a MINI!”
Someone at school commented on the “chick car” status of the MINI. Well, sure, it looks nice and all, but it can also perform. Something you […]
